Settling in.

Now, six weeks or so in, I feel like I am finally settling in and finding my groove....although that groove (routine) is new every day - part of the attraction to the job. It has been great to get to know more kids, establish relationships with both kids and staff and try to make a difference in a life.

Reflections

What do I take from this New Teacher Induction....new connections with teachers, the schools and the system. I take a better understanding and perspective of classroom management - even if I don't have to manage a classroom on a daily basis, I can collaborate with teachers in the management of their classrooms. This process also brings me all that I didn't learn in my education to be a counselor....I learned to be a counselor and learned very little about working in education....there is always so much more to learn.
